Hi my name is Kira Knight and this is my AS media blog.

Over the year, we will do a lot of work and research on Film noir and we will incorperate our findings into our final piece which will be a contemporary film noir opening.

We will start by making a preliminary video which will get us all up and equipt with the camera, sound and editing equipment we will need to use for our future noir opening. This will be a simple filming task where we film two people in coversation after they walk into a room. This will get us to grips with different shot types, angles and getting used to camera movement.

After this, we will try a harder task of making a noir styled exchange sequence. This will involve us finding a location of campus, and taking our own initiative to make it as noir as possible. For example the Mise - en - scene - costumes, props etc. Cinematography, Editing and sound. We will put all the conventions together to try and make it as noir as possible, as this will be our last filming practice before our final piece - The film noir opening.

Aswell as filming we will have to do a lot of research and findings to back up why we have used certain conventions. Also to get lots of information of film noir so we can make our filming to the best standard of the theme.

And that is our AS year.
